Bird head is finished!

Here's an update on my latest bird sculpture. The part you see is about 32" tall. There's a base at the bottom, but you can't see it under all that plastic.


Now I need to refine the texture on the body and start on the base, and still need to sculpt the bird that will sit on the base looking up at her. Sounds like a lot, I know, but at least I'm getting there!

  5. Oh my gosh this is SO GORGEOUS! I love the sheltering wings around that sweet little chick. I'm so impressed by this and your other sculptures!

    oh- and what i came to say was THANK YOU for stopping by my blog. I thought your comment was super sweet. You mentioned you were a mom but I think if I didn't know I would have been able to tell from this one sculpture. I love it!

  6. Kelly...I am also a fellow flyer in Kelly Rae's class. I am blown away by this piece! I just Love it! I just started a blog late last nite...couldn't calm myself down...and I'm trying to stay focused. Difficult right now. Anyway, I want to keep tabs on your beautiful Bird...I am an ex-clayworker...and know how much effort is put into each piece. It's so nice to meet you.
